Step 1: Set Up A Sequence

第一步: 制定阅读步骤

All decodable readers have an educational focus. Some beginning readers focus on phonics sounds or blends, while others focus on sight words or reading comprehension skills. While teachers have access to these educational goals, parents may or may not be able to access the educational focus behind the decodable reader. No worries! Create your own Language Arts teaching sequence by following the simple rules below:

所有自然拼读读物都关注对于孩子的教育意义。一些初级读物着重于孩子的自然拼读能力，另外一些读物则侧重于识字能力和阅读理解能力的培养。老师们实现拼读的教育目标比家长们要容易很多（家长们资源有限啦）。不过再也不用担心啦！遵循以下几个步骤，一起来建立我们自己的语言教程。

1.Phonics First

拼读在先

Begin with phonics sounds A-Z, including short vowels. At VIPKID, we teach synthetic phonics. This means that each phonics sound is pronounced as closely to the real sound as possible. Oxford Owl is an amazing website where parents can hear all of the phonics sounds(including blends) read aloud.

More advanced readers will benefit from practicing initial and ending phonics blends (black) and vowel blends(bear). If your child can read but does not know the sound that each letter of the alphabet makes, phonics should be your focus.

更高一级的读物则会帮助孩子练习首尾字母的拼读以及元音的拼读。如果您的孩子能够拼读但是不能准确知道每个字母对应的发音，那么孩子一定要练习自然拼读法。

2.Sight Words

固定读音的单词

Reading by sight, or reading sight words, is another big element of learning to read. Knowing sight words by memory allows achild to build fluency and confidence.

固定读音的单词（也就是眼睛一看到就能整体识别出来的词，如can, yes, too等等），是阅读技能培养的另一个很重要的内容。孩子在阅读的过程中努力记住这些单词，有助于孩子们阅读流利度的提高和自信心的建立。

Step 2: Read to Learn

第二步：通过阅读获取知识

There is a saying in the education world- “First children learn to read. Then, they read to learn.” Children begin to understand the content of books as they develop language skills. When reading in a second language, this process is longer. Decodable readers have few words and many pictures, as beginning readers use the pictures to gain context from the text.Children should be encouraged to gain context clues by using both book illustrations and key words in the sentence.

教育界流传着一句话：“先学会怎么阅读，然后阅读将带领你更好地学习。”随着语言能力的增强，孩子们渐渐便能够理解书本的意思。外语阅读会让这个过程增长。自然拼读读物通常附有大量图片和少量文字，因为初学者可以通过图片去理解文章内容。爸爸麻麻要鼓励宝贝通过文章插图和关键词获取文章线索。

Step 3: Make It Fun!

第三步：阅读要有趣！

There is nothing boring about reading- but there are many boring ways to teach a child to read. Introduce your child to the wonderful, magical world of reading with interesting activities that stretch the limits of the imagination.

阅读本身一点都不枯燥（但不得不承认有一些阅读方法的确是无聊透顶的）。我们要给孩子挑选那些有趣的奇妙的读物，帮助孩子们在想象的世界里遨游。

1. Find the Letter/Blend

找出拼读音节

Make it a race to see how long it takes your child to circle (box, star) the letter or (initial/final/vowel) blend of the parent's choosing. Extend the learning by encouraging the child to read each word that includes the letter/blend of choice.

跟孩子营造一个比赛的环境，看看孩子会花多少时间圈出家长们选择的拼读音节，并且举一反三，陪着孩子多练习带有这些音节的单词。

2.CVC Scramble

辅音-元音-辅音 发音结构

Create flashcards for letters A-Z. Separate all vowels (a,e,i,o,u) and consonants (the remaining letters). Ask your child to read different combinations of words using the same Consonant-Vowel-Consonant(CVC) sequence. To amp up the fun, add a timer and see how many words your child can read in 30 seconds. For more advanced readers, create four or five letter word combinations. Remember- not all words must have a meaning!

制作26个字母的抽认卡。区分开元音（a e i o u）和辅音。让孩子练习读出辅音-元音-辅音这一结构的不同单词。为了增加乐趣，不妨计时看看孩子能在30秒内读出多少个单词。更高级一点的读物会提供四到五个字母组成的单词。只要拼读就好，不要求每个词都有意义。

3.Spelling Bee

拼写大赛

Using the decodable reader as a guide, create a weekly spelling list for your child to review. Create a reward system and give your child a weekly “pop quiz”. Record your child’s score each week. To extend learning, create a family Spelling Bee competition. The family member to spell most words correctly is the winner!

把自然拼读书籍作为参考，为孩子制作一个拼写周计划以便复习。制定一个奖励机制每周来一次不定期抽查，并记录孩子每一周的成绩。加深学习，不如来个家庭拼写大赛，家里写得最多最正确的那个人就是胜利者。

4.Retell/Recreate the Story

复述和改编故事

Encourage your child to write their own story, drawing pictures for each page. For beginners, ask your child to dictate as you write the story. To extend learning, set up a show time for your child to present the book to the whole family.

鼓励孩子自己创作他们自己的故事，并为每一页制作插图。对于初学家庭，不妨孩子口述爸爸妈妈来执笔。延伸学习，不妨设立一个展示时间让孩子给全家人展示整个故事。

5.Reader’s Theater

阅读剧场

One of my favorite reading activities- Reader’sTheatre- promotes presentation, public, speaking, imagination, and reading skills in one awesome activity. Find a book with different voices and choose a few characters. Act out the story with your child using simple costumes,interesting voices for each character, and hand/facial gestures. Make this activity even more exciting by creating hand puppets.

阅读剧场是我最爱的阅读活动之一。这一活动能同时提高展示能力，公众演讲能力，想像力还有阅读技巧。找一本多角色的故事书，和孩子一起表演不同的角色，可以穿相应的戏服，用有趣的声音，加上手部的动作或脸部表情。手偶会使得这一活动更加有趣哦！

6.It’s MY Story Now!

我的故事出炉啦！

Encourage your child to modify the existing story to create a new plot. For example, what would the story be like if the character made a different decision at any point in the book? Let your child rewrite the story, adding additional pictures and plot elements. Remember- nothing is off limits! Encourage creative elements like pink elephants or flying bicycles to stretch the imagination.

鼓励孩子改编耳熟能详的故事。例如，如果书中一个人物在任何一个点做了不同的决定故事结局会有什么不同呢？让孩子加入不同的图片或新鲜的情节，创意无上限哦！来点粉色的大象或者会飞的自行车也是超棒的创意哦！
