外教读睡前故事 | Are You My Mother? 你是我的妈妈吗？

《Are You My Mother? 你是我的妈妈吗？》大树上，一只鸟宝宝钻出壳，他想到的第一件事就是找妈妈，但是鸟妈妈飞出去觅食了。小朋友们都知道，没有妈妈在身边会感到害怕的，于是鸟宝宝开始了寻找妈妈的旅程。他要怎么找？去哪里找？一起到故事中看看吧~

今天的故事虽然篇幅较长，但词汇和句型都非常简单易懂，其中涉及到了多个角色，家长可以和孩子玩角色扮演，是很棒的亲子互动方式哦~

A mother bird sat on her egg.

一只鸟妈妈正在孵蛋。

The egg jumped.

鸟蛋动了动。

“Oh oh!” said the mother bird. “My baby will be here! He will want to eat.”

“哦哦！”这个鸟妈妈激动地说，“我的鸟宝宝就要出开啦！他可能会想吃点东西。”

“I must get something for my baby bird to eat!” she said. “I will be back!”

“我必须给我的鸟宝宝找点吃的！”她说，“我会快去快回！”

So away she went.

于是她飞走了。

The egg jumped. It jumped, and jumped, and jumped!

鸟蛋动了一下。动了动，又动了动！

Out came the baby bird!

一只小鸟破壳而出！

“Where is my mother?” he said.

“我的妈妈在哪里？”他说。

He looked for her.

他开始四处找妈妈。

He looked up. He did not see her.

他朝上看，没有找到妈妈。

He looked down. He did not see her.

他朝下看，也没有找到妈妈。

“I will go and look for her,” he said.

“我会动身去找妈妈。”他说。

So away he went.

于是他出发了。

Down, out of the tree he went.

他从树上掉了下来。

Down, down, down! It was a long way down.

掉啊，掉啊，掉啊！过了好一会儿才落到地上。

The baby bird could not fly.

这只鸟宝宝还不会飞。

He could not fly, but he could walk. “Now I will go and find my mother,” he said.

他不会飞，但他能走。“现在我就要去找我的妈妈，”他说。

He did not know what his mother looked like. He went right by her. He did not see her.

他并不知道自己的妈妈长什么样子。他从妈妈身边经过，却没有看到她。

He came to a kitten. “Are you my mother?” he said to the kitten.

他走到一只小猫身边。“你是我的妈妈吗？”他问小猫。

The kitten just looked and looked. It did not say a thing.

这只小猫只是看啊看，没有说一句话。

The kitten was not his mother, so he went on.

小猫不是他的妈妈，于是他离开了。

Then he came to a hen. “Are you my mother?” he said to the hen. “No,” said the hen.

接着他走到一只母鸡身边。“你是我的妈妈吗？”他问母鸡。“不，”这只母鸡回答。

The kitten was not his mother. The hen was not his mother. So the baby bird went on.

小猫不是他的妈妈。母鸡也不是他的妈妈。所以鸟宝宝继续走。

“I have to find my mother!” he said. “But where? Where is she? Where could she be?”

“我必须找到我的妈妈！”他说，“但是要去哪里找呢？她在哪儿呢？她会去哪呢？”

Then he came to a dog. “Are you my mother?” he said to the dog.

然后他走到一只狗跟前。“你是我的妈妈吗？”他对这只狗说。

“I am not your mother. I am a dog,” said the dog.

“我不是你的妈妈。我是一只狗，”这只狗回答。

The kitten was not his mother. The hen was not his mother. The dog was not his mother.

小猫不是他的妈妈。母鸡不是他的妈妈。小狗也不是他的妈妈。

So the baby bird went on. Now he came to a cow.

所以鸟宝宝继续走。现在他走到一头牛身旁。

“Are you my mother?” he said to the cow.

“你是我的妈妈吗？”他对那头牛说。

“How could I be your mother?” said the cow. “I am a cow.”

“我怎么可能是你的妈妈？”这头牛回答。“我是一头牛。”

The kitten and the hen were not his mother. The dog and the cow were not his mother.

小猫和母鸡不是他的妈妈。狗和牛也不是他的妈妈。

Did he have a mother?

他真的有妈妈吗？

“I did have a mother,” said the baby bird. “I know I did. I have to find her. I will. I WILL!”

“我确实有妈妈，”鸟宝宝说。“我知道我有，我必须找到她。我会的，我一定会！”

Now the baby bird did not walk. He ran! Then he saw a car. Could that old thing be his mother?

现在鸟宝宝不走了，他开始跑！接着他看到一辆汽车。这个老家伙会是他的妈妈吗？

No, it could not.

不，他不是。

The baby bird did not stop. He ran on and on.

鸟宝宝没有停下，他跑啊跑，一直跑。

Now he looked way, way down. He saw a boat. “There she is!” said the baby bird.

现在他把目光移开，朝下看去。他看到了一条船。“她就在那里！”鸟宝宝说到。

He called to the boat, but the boat did not stop. The boat went on.

他朝那条船大喊，但是船并没有停下来，而是继续开走了。

He looked way, way up. He saw a big plane. “Here I am, Mother,” he called out.

他把目光移开，朝上看去。他看到一个大飞机。“我在这里，妈妈，”他大声喊道。

But the plane did not stop. The plane went on.

但是飞机没有停下来，而是继续飞走了。

Just then, the baby bird saw a big thing. This must be his mother! “There she is!” he said.

紧接着，鸟宝宝看到一个大家伙。这一定是他的妈妈了！“她在这里！”他说。

“There is my mother!”

“这是我的妈妈！”

He ran right up to it. “Mother, Mother! Here I am, Mother!” he said to the big thing.

他径直朝那边跑去。“妈妈，妈妈！我在这里，妈妈！”他朝这个大家伙说道。

But the big thing just said, “Snort.”

但是这个大家伙只发出了一声，“哼。”

“Oh, you are not my mother,” said the baby bird. “You are a Snort. I have to get out of here!”

“哦，你不是我的妈妈，”鸟宝宝说道。“你是一辆挖掘机。我必须离开这里！”

But the baby bird could not get away. The Snort went up! It went way, way up. And up, up, up went the baby bird.

但是鸟宝宝走不了了。挖掘机的手臂开始往上抬！它一直往上升，升啊升，把鸟宝贝举得高高的。

But now, where was the Snort going? “Oh, oh, oh! What is this Snort going to do to me? Get me out of here!”

但是现在，这台挖掘机要往哪里去？“哦哦哦！这台挖掘机要把我送到哪里去？快让我离开这里！”

Just then the Snort came to a stop.

就在这时，挖掘机停了下来。

“Where am I?” said the baby bird. “I want to go home! I want my mother!”

“我现在在哪里？”鸟宝宝说道。“我想回家！我想我的妈妈！”

Then something happened. The Snort put that baby bird right back in the tree. The baby bird was home!

接下来奇妙的事情发生了。挖掘机把鸟宝宝送回了树上。鸟宝宝回家了。

Just then the mother bird came back to the tree.

就在此时鸟妈妈也飞回了树上。

“Do you know who I am?” she said to her baby.

“你知道我是谁吗？”她对鸟宝宝说。

“Yes, I know who you are,” said the baby bird. “You are not a kitten. You are not a hen. You are not a dog. You are not a cow. You are not a boat, or a plane, or a Snort! You are a bird, and you are my mother.”

“是的，我知道你是谁，”鸟宝宝说道。“你不是小猫，不是母鸡，不是小狗，不是牛，不是船，不是飞机，也不是挖掘机！你是一只鸟，而且你是我妈妈。”
