PreSchool-Grade 1—Parr's smiley-faced peopleare back in this ode to unconditional love. The die-cut cover,revealing a child with arms open wide framed in a heart, sets acheery tone. Each spread describes a situation and its opposite,such as "I love you when you are scared. I love you when you arebrave." As in his previous books, the author/illustrator employs apalette of primary colors outlined in black for his depictions ofdiverse people and objects.
