Learning is a life-long process. As parents, we can’t teach our children to love to learn, but we can creating an environment of support — both at home and at school — in which children can develop their own ideas, express feelings, take chances, make choices, share their opinions, and most of all, grow to be strong individuals.

学习本是终生的体验。无论孩子在学校还是在家，作为父母的我们虽不能强迫孩子热爱学习，但至少可以为孩子创造良好的学习环境——这样一来，孩子不仅能自主思考，自由表达，还敢于抓住机会，自己做决定并乐于分享他们的心得，成为坚强的“大小孩”。

1. Surround your child with books

A child who enjoys reading will not only expand their vocabulary, writing, and reading comprehension skills, they will also be introduced to different cultures and concepts. The best way to encourage your child to love reading is to set an example - let your child see you read. Read-aloud before bed time is also an excellent way to introduce your child to the joys of reading.

1. 把孩子“泡”在书里

一个热爱阅读的孩子不仅能拓展自己的词汇量，提高写作和阅读的综合能力，他们还能接触到多元的文化和不同的概念。鼓励孩子阅读最好的方式是以身作则-让孩子看到作为父母的我们也是“书虫”哦。睡前给孩子念故事也是让孩子体会到阅读乐趣的一种好办法。

2. Let your child play

Play is the work of children. When children have ample opportunities for open-ended play, they naturally grow their curiosity through investigation. Playing with peers will help your child develop strong social skills including teamwork. As a parent, it is important to adopt a responsive, inquisitive attitude towards yourchild’s play. Help them extend their activities by asking leading questions that encourage the curiosity that comes naturally to all children.

2. 让孩子开心玩耍

爱玩是孩子的天性。当孩子有大量机会参与“开放式”游戏时，他们会在游戏过程里油然而生出好奇心。和同龄孩子一起玩耍也能很好地帮助孩子增强社交技能，比如说团队合作能力。对于孩子的玩闹，作为家长的我们不妨持有一种积极回应和互动的态度。帮助孩子拓展社交活动，问孩子一些启发性的领导力问题，鼓励孩子好奇心的成长。

3. Let your child choose what to learn

While some learning is mandatory, a child should be encouraged and supported by parents to pursue their own personal interests. What does your child enjoy the most? Not all extracurricular activities must have an end goal. Encourage your child to sign up for activities like team sports which support social skills, teamwork, and persistence, or art which supports creativity and creative thinking.

3. 让孩子选择自己想学的东西

虽说有些学习体验是强制性的，但我们还是要鼓励支持孩子追求自己的兴趣爱好。你知道你的孩子最喜欢什么吗？另外，不是所有的课外活动都需要一个明确的目标。鼓励孩子参加一些团队体育活动——这些活动能帮助孩子增强社交能力、团队合作力、意志力等等。或者鼓励他们参加一些艺术活动，培养好奇心和创造性思维。

4. Teach that learning is life long

The element that separates very successful, happy people from unsuccessful, unhappy people is attitude. The top thinkers of our time pushed beyond the classroom and what was expected of them to learn and learned on their own. Soft skills like persistence, optimism, and curiosity prove to be a more effective indicator of how successful a child will be than grades or standardized test scores.

4. 告诉孩子学习是终生的体验

成功并且快乐的人与失败、不开心的人很重要的一点区别就是——态度。这个时代顶尖的思考者超越了传统课堂教授的东西以及舆论环境期待他们学习的东西——相反，他们自主学习。像意志力、乐观精神还有好奇心这些“软实力”被证实比标准化考试下的成绩更能衡量孩子的成功与否。

5. Support your child at home

A child needs certain elements to learn. These elements include good nutrition, enough sleep,and a lot of hugs and kisses. By using positive reinforcement tools such as a reward system and really listening and empathizing with your child, a parent is able to motivate without resorting to negative approaches like yelling or punishment.

5. 在家里也要好好支持孩子学习

孩子学习需要一些必需的条件——包括良好的营养，充足的睡眠，此外孩子需要大量的拥抱和亲吻。不妨使用一些正面鼓励，比如奖励机制或者认真倾听孩子说话并拥有同理心真正理解孩子——这样一来，作为父母的我们就不用使用惩罚机制或者对孩子大吼大叫这么伤感情的方式啦。
